This exhibition to run from 17.10.14 to March 2015 will be of great interest. It will give a fascinating insight and background to, of life and influences on Sibelius during his lifetime. In particular on the type of lifestyle led by the artistic community of Lake Tuusula and those surrounding Ainola ie the artist Pekka Halonen who lived in a nearby Villa Halosenniemi. Some of his beautiful works are displayed at Ainola. There is also the artist, traveller, entrepreneur and friend of Sibelius Akseli Gallen-Kallela, who was a drinking partner of Sibelius, and whose works are vivid, stunning and very expressive. In particular those associated with the Finnish epic the ‘Kalevala’. An exhibition not to be missed at the Ateneum,if you happen to be in Helsinki
