  2. I just filled out the membership form and paid my £15 annual subscription by international bank transfer. However, I have just noticed that I did not put my name in the payment reference box as I see you have requested. The payment should arrive in your bank on 17 June 2020. I hope you can match this to my application.
    I live in Aubonne, Switzerland.
Also – are there any 2020 festival tickets still available with Sibelius One? If so, I am very interested to join the group and buy them for the whole festival.
I look forward to hearing from you.
    Kind regards

    1. Dear Dr Yuzefovich,
Thanks for getting in touch! Unfortunately no English translation of Sibelius’s diaries exists, although in some biographies there are fairly long quotations (not always totally accurate as they were made before the diaries were published in Swedish).
According to the index of the Swedish edition, Koussevitsky is mentioned just once, on 28 December 1928 (by which time the entries are infrequent):
“Huru oändligt svårt är det att lefva detta vårt enda lif! – Sinfonia III haft stor framgång i Boston. Under Koussevitzky. – Skall jag alltod förbli senna sensitiva? Ja! Förfärligt.”
[My spontaneous translation: “How endlessly difficult it is to live this, our one and only life! The Third Symphony has had great success in Boston. Under Koussevitsky. Shall I always remain this sensitive? Yes! How dreadful.”]
Prof. Dahlström’s notes reveal that the performance he mentions was with the Boston Symphony Orchestra on 9 November 1928.
I hope this is of some help!
      Best regards,
      Andrew Barnett
